Senior Automation Technician · Control4
Then you're sent to the next job before you can fix it properly. Here, the whole house is built, programmed and tested in the workshop before it reaches site.
Apply in five minutesSound familiar
The job was won cheap, so it's installed in a rush, and you're the one who goes back to make it work.
You can see the better way to do it. The decision gets made by someone who's never opened Composer.
Quoting at night, chasing money, every problem coming home with you. Good at the work, worn out by the rest.
How the work runs
Baillie is engaged early, alongside the architect, often before a builder is appointed. By the time anyone pulls a cable, the engineering is done.
The role
Lighting control, shading, multi-room audio, cinema, networking, CCTV, intercom, access control and climate, on architect-designed homes across Melbourne, Bayside and the Mornington Peninsula. You'll be the person who opens the laptop when something isn't talking to something else.
If you've run data cable and fitted a few keypads, this role starts where that ends. We'd rather tell you now than waste your afternoon.
Working here
Problems are found in the workshop, not in the client's house. You arrive with drawings, a tested rack and the time to do the job properly.
Nobody stays stuck in one seat. When someone's ready for more, it's handed to them, with the training to do it well.
The standard doesn't drop when a budget gets tight. The back of the rack matters as much as the front, and the training to get there is paid for.
